Harlan City Police Chief Mike Thomas accepts a box of items from Sgt. Elizabeth Coots from the Appalachian ChalleNGe Academy on Tuesday. Coots presented the items, which were gifted to the county’s first responders by the students at the ChalleNGe Academy in recognition of the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
