Dr. Seuss celebrated during Read Across America

Students in Mary Kneen’s class at Rosspoint Elementary School recently dressed up as Dr. Seuss characters.
Miss Harlan County Emily Eldridge visited Cumberland Elementary School and read to students in kindergarten- through fourth-grade. She read a Dr. Seuss book to each class to celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
Cawood Elementary School recently held Dr. Seuss Day activities. The students dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters. Harlan County Judge-Executive Dan Mosley, Harlan County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Matt Cope and Harlan County Schools Family Resource and Youth Service Centers Coordinator David Hensley were guest readers. The cafeteria staff served green eggs and ham for breakfast. Students received a Dr. Seuss book mark.
