Lady Devils edge Black Mountain
Led by 10 points from Faith Caldwell, visiting Wallins edged Black Mountain 20-19 in overtime in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.
Jayden Parker led Black Mountain with six points.
Whitney Noe scored 13 points and Kayleigh Templeton added 10 as Wallins coasted to a 42-14 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
Carly Turner and Aubrey Madden led Black Mountain with five points each.
Black Mountain will travel to Rosspoint on Thursday.

Preston leads Lady Cats to victory
Ashley Preston scored 12 points to lead Evarts in a 40-18 win Tuesday at Green Hills in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Alisha Middleton led Green Hills with 12 points.
Evarts fell 38-29 to East Perry and 35-15 to Bell Central in the Queen of Clover Fork Invitational over the weekend.
The Lady Cats will travel to Cumberland on Monday.

Taylor Clem paced Cawood with 18 points.
Cheyanne Rhymer scored 25 and Maddi Middleton added 14 as Cawood won 39-20 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Lindsay Skidmore led the Lady Cats with 12 points.
Rosspoint won 13-2 in a fourth-grade game.
Cawood will play host to Stinnett on Thursday.

Hatfield Golf Scramble scheduled
The first annual Kevin Hatfield Memorial Golf Scramble, sponsored by the Harlan County boys basketball team, will held Sept. 28 at the Sleepy Hollow Golf Course.
Registration for the four-man scramble will be at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30. The entry fee is $400 per team and $100 for individuals. The entry fees and mulligan purchases benefit the HCHS basketball team.
Large prizes are planned for first- and second-place teams.
