HCHS soccer teams sweep Knox Central

Harlan County’s Elina Turner battled for possession of the ball in soccer action Tuesday against Knox Central. The Lady Bears extended their win streak to three with a 2-1 victory.
Harlan County’s soccer teams each extended their win streaks to three in a sweep of Knox Central on Tuesday.
The HCHS girls improved to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in district action with a 2-1 win. Natalie Bolin and Hailey Gaw scored goals for the Lady Bears. Sarah Sturgill and Gaw had assists.
Knox Central scored on a penalty kick.
The HCHS boys won 3-0 to improve to 3-5-1 on the season. Hunter Mefford, Johnny Brock and James Chasteen had goals for the Bears. Nick Shackleford posted a shutout with nine saves.
Both Harlan County teams will play host to Letcher Central on Thursday.
