Southeast Choir to hold Christmas concerts

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College has announced the Southeast Choir’s Christmas concert dates.
The choir will perform at 3 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Church of Resurrection in Lynch and at 3 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Christ Episcopal Church in Harlan.
Beautiful music of the Christian season will soar through these remarkable churches, to open this most hallowed time. Works by J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel, Johann Schop, John Rutter, M. Leontovitch, M. Praetorius, John Jacob Niles, Jay Althouse, and other traditional choral arrangements will be performed.
Directors Ryland Pope and Clara Atkins-Pope invite all to attend. These events are open and free to the community.
The choir boasts 10 retired or active music educators, plus many great singers, all of whom make this choir a remarkable group to hear and join.
Current choir members include: Willow Schwenke, Cotha Hudson, Shawna Hodge, Ginny Goss, Jeanne Lee, Chris Jones, Dan Midkiff, David Davies, Tom Pope, Mark Bell, Kyle Allison, Jeremy Bell, John Bell, Deron Major, Donell Busroe, Karen Davenport, Anne Lindsey, Ann Midkiff, Cindy Allison, Grace Olson, Ann Schertz, Director Ryland Pope and Clara Atkins-Pope, accompanist/co-director.
