<p>Jeff Phillips | Harlan County Schools</p> <p>Save the Children teacher Katherine Clem, at Cawood Elementary School, recently invited Kentucky State Police Trooper Jake Middleton to read to her students. He is a 2013 graduate of Harlan County High School where he was a standout member of the Harlan County football team. Middleton read books to the students and answered questions about being a police officer. He discussed the importance of reading with the students. He encouraged them to stay in school and continue their education. </p>
