A Harlan man was arrested recently for allegedly using little league funds for his own benefit.
Former Kentucky State Police trooper James Earl Hensley, 39, was arrested by KSP troopers on March 12 at approximately 2:13 p.m. after an ongoing investigation by detectives.
According to the citation, from January 2017 through Dec. 31, 2018, while he served as Harlan Little League president, Hensley used funds belonging to the group for his own personal benefit.
Hensley allegedly purchased items totaling more than $10,000 through the little league account.
Hensley was charged with theft by unlawful taking (between $500 and $10,000) and was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond, with 10 percent bail credit.

• Leslie Napier, 35, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Office deputies on March 6. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, abused/neglected child and tampering with physical evidence. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $2,500 full-cash bond;
• Rhonda Howard, 50, of Helton, was arrested by Harlan Police Department officers on March 7. She was charged with three counts first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine; opiates; drug unspecified), third-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, theft by unlawful taking (under $500) and prescription controlled substance without proper container. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $2,500 full-cash bond;
• Shawn Ashley, 21, of Totz, was arrested by Cumberland Police Department officers on March 8. He was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $3,500 full-cash bond;
• Jessie Mann, 35, of Lynch, was arrested by Kentucky State Police trooeprs on March 9. She was charged with two counts first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine; drug unspecified), second-degree possession of controlled substance (amphetamine), third-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified), two counts failure to appear, two counts tampering with physical evidence, two counts second-degree trafficking controlled substance, first-degree promoting contraband and possession of marijuana. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a four full-cash bonds totaling $10,000;
• Brett Farley, 20, of Evarts, was arrested by Harlan Police Department officers on March 9. He was charged with first-degree fleeing/evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree trafficking controlled substance (methamphetamine), second-degree criminal possession of forged instrument and public intoxication of controlled substance (excluding alcohol). He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $3,500 full-cash bond;
• Brittany Williams, 30, of Dayhoit, was arrested by Kentucky State Police troopers on March 9. She was charged with first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), third-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of drug paraphernalia and non-payment of court costs/fees/fines. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $1,500 full-cash bond;
• Jerry Joseph, 29, of Harlan, was arrested by Harlan Police Department officers on March 9. He was charged with first-degree fleeing/evading police (motor vehicle), operation of motor vehicle while under the influence, first-degree trafficking controlled substance (methamphetamine), first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), second-degree criminal possession of forged instrument, obstructed vision and/or windshield and failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond, 10 percent with bail credit;
• Christopher Sizemore, 39, of Bledsoe, was arrested by Kentucky State Police troopers on March 10. He was charged with receiving stolen property (under $10,000) and was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $1,500 full-cash bond;
• Keith Turner, 29, of Baxter, was arrested by Kentucky State Police troopers on March 11. He was charged with first-degree forgery, three counts second-degree criminal possession of forged instrument, identity theft, two counts theft by deception (including cold checks under $500) and two counts failure to appear. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center with no bond set;
• Tyler Buell, 34, of Wallins, was arrested by probation and parole officers on March 11. He was charged with first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine), second-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole violation. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $1,500 full-cash bond;
• Amber Maggard, 31, of Loyall, was arrested by Harlan Police Department officers on March 12. She was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, second-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified) and prescription controlled substance without proper container. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center with no bond set.
