Lady Bears sweep scrimmages at Campbellsville

The Harlan County Lady Bears swept all five of their scrimmages at the Campbellsville University Team Camp on Monday and Tuesday. Harlan County completed a 5-0 mark at the Campbellsville University Team Camp with three victories Tuesday.
Senior guard Morgan Blakley scored 16 points and junior forward Kassy Owens added 11 in a 46-30 win over McLean County. Jacey Lewis tossed in eight points. Jaylin Smith scored six. Hannah Wood and Kelly Beth Hoskins added two each. Jaylin Preston scored one.
Blakley poured in 19 points as Harlan County edged Thomas Nelson 37-34. Owens and Wood added seven and six points, respectively. Smith scored three. Lewis added two.
Lewis scored 14 and Blakley added 13 as the Lady Bears defeated Hancock County 41-37. Hoskins tossed in eight. Wood scored four. Owens added two.
Harlan County won three of five in junior varsity action with victories over Bullitt East, Lincoln County and Bullitt Central and losses to Spencer County and Anderson County. The Lady Bears’ junior varsity record for the summer is 10-6.

Harlan County closed its summer schedule with a 15-5 mark by splitting two scrimmages at Lynn Camp on Thursday as the Lady Bears routed Lynn Camp 58-28 and fell to Whitley County 59-43.
Blakley scored 18 points to lead the Lady Bears against Lynn Camp. Owens and Lewis added 11 each. Smith scored 10. Wood and Preston contributed three each. Aaliyah Cloud added two.
Blakley carried the Lady Bears’ offense against Whitley with 23 points. Lewis scored 10. Owens and Wood added six and four points, respectively.
