Harlan County resident Margaret Stewart-Cranfill was the winner of an autographed University of Kentucky basketball, which had previously been signed by the 2018-19 team and coaches, along with a few other UK “greats.” Harlan County Judge-Executive Dan Mosley placed the basketball up for auction in his efforts to donate the money to With Love from Harlan. The winning bid of $1,100 will be donated in order to purchase shoes for children impacted by Blackjewel’s bankruptcy. “Meg plans to auction this basketball later this fall for a charity that her and her husband are involved in known as Arbor Youth Services in Lexington,” Mosley said. “Thanks again, Meg, for helping the kids here. May God bless each of you who continue to help, and continue to keep these miners and their families in your prayers.”
