Akal plays in Battle of the Bridges

Harlan sophomore guard Jordan Akal competed in the Battle of the Bridges all-star game on Saturday. Kentucky defeated Indiana in the 22nd annual match up of some of the top players from each state. Akal averaged 17.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game last year for the 20-13 Dragons, who made their third straight trip to the 13th Region Tournament. Akal had a huge summer for the Dragons, averaging over 30 points in Harlan’s 21 scrimmages. He scored 47 points in a win over Scott County, 35 in a win over Wolfe County and 33 in a victory over Jackson County.
