Juvenile arrested for Rosspoint vandalism

On Friday, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by school officials in reference to vandalism at Rosspoint Elementary School. An investigation was initiated and it was determined that the glass backboard on a basketball goal behind the school had been destroyed by someone throwing rocks.

The investigation resulted in a 13-year-old juvenile being charged with second-degree criminal mischief.

The case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office. The charges have been turned over to the Harlan County Court designated worker.
