Harlan County defeated Hazard 3-1 in a soccer scrimmage earlier this week at the James A. Cawood field.

Caydon Shanks, James Chasteen and David Blas had goals for the Black Bears. Johnny Brock added a pair of assists.

Hazard won 2-1 in junior varsity action. Matthew Jones scored for the Bears on an assist from Hunter Smith.

Harlan County opens its regular season schedule on Aug. 26 at Middlesboro.
