Lady Bears drop district clash to Bell

Harlan County fell to 2-11 on the season with a three-set loss Thursday against visiting Bell County. The 8-5 Lady Cats won 25-16, 25-22, 27-25.
Olivia Minor led HCHS with 27 assists, 15 digs, four aces and two kills. Brenna Early had 13 digs and two aces. Serenity Whitehead contributed 14 digs, 14 kills, five assists, two aces and five blocks. Dixie Ewing had 14 digs, four aces, eight assists and five kills. Paighton Freeman added 11 assists, 10 digs, four kills and one ace. Carlee Stevens contributed nine digs, three assists, three kills, two blocks and one ace. Lindsey Browning added five assists, five digs, four kills, two aces and one block.
Harlan County fell 25-8, 25-12, 25-9 to Knox Central on Monday at HCHS.
Minor led the Lady Bears with 25 digs, 19 assists, one ace and five kills. Early had 19 assists, eight digs and one kill. Freeman had 17 assists, nine digs and seven kills. Whitehead added 17 digs, six assists, two blocks and six kills. Ewing had 19 digs, five assists and six kills. Stevens added six digs, four assists and two kills. Browning had four digs, three assists, one block and eight kills. Lily Caballero had four digs.
The 2-12 Lady Bears return to action on Oct. 7 at the Cumberland Homechool.

Harlan fell 25-17, 25-22, 25-11 on Monday at home against Thomas Walker, Va. No scoring information was submitted.
The 9-7 Lady Dragons travel to Letcher Central on Tuesday.
