Karate students medal at tournament

On Oct. 7, students from Howard Family Martial Arts in Verda competed in the annual Battle of Cumberland Gap Karate Championship. Eighth students brought back 15 medals including: Hunter Housley, second in fighting and third in forms; Kaylob Stevens, third in fighting and third in forms; Jace Noe, first in fighting and first in forms; Brodie Lankford, fourth in fighting and second in forms; Aiden Burnette, first in fighting and first in forms; Shaun Burnette, second in fighting and second in forms; Karagan Baker, first in forms; Adriana Rowe, second in fighting and first in forms. Master Instructor Daniel Howard said “These kids work really hard in class and they were great ambassadors for our school and Harlan County.”
