Lady Dragons split two games during Corbin Christmas Bash

Harlan split two games Saturday in the Corbin Christmas Bash, falling 73-60 to the host Lady Hounds in the morning before rolling past Caverna 74-34 in the afternoon.
Freshman guard Peyshaunce Wynn scored 23 to lead the Lady Dragons against Caverna. Aymanni Wynn tossed in 16, followed by Cheyenne Rhymer with 12 and Shelby Doan with 10.
Morgan Thompson led Caverna with 19 points.
The Lady Dragons outscored Caverna 25-15 in the opening quarter and 22-11 in the second. Harlan gave up only three points in the third quarter and five in the fourth.
Kylie Clem led Corbin with 23 points. Addy Wilson scored 11, and Raegan Walker added 11.
Aymanni scored 25 and Rhymer tossed in 18 for Harlan.
Harlan (5-4) returns to action next week in a tournament at Bryan Station.

Lady Dragons take over in fourth quarter to knock off Wayne at Corbin tourney
After staying close for three quarters, the Harlan Lady Dragons took over in the fourth by outscoring Wayne County 21-9 on the way to a 63-52 win in the first game of the Corbin Christmas Bash.
Senior guard Aymanni Wynn led a balanced Harlan attack with 14 points. Peyshaunce Wynn and Kylie Noe added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Trailing 43-42 after three quarters, Harlan dominated the final period as Aymanni Wynn scored 10 points on a pair of 3-pointers and four free throws. Peyshaunce Wynn also had a 3 with two free throws.
Sophomore guard Kelci Debora led the 6-2 Lady Cardinals with 13 points. Abigail Heatherly and Adeline Heatherly each added nine.
Harlan (4-3) will play Corbin at 11:30 a.m. and Caverna at 3 p.m in tournament action Saturday.
