Rosspoint wins Region 21 Governor’s Cup

Rosspoint Elementary School won first place in the middle school Region 21 Kentucky Governor’s Cup competition recently at Page School Center in Bell County.
Bell Central took second place honors, followed by Evarts in third, Wallins in fourth and Middlesboro in fifth. Other places listed were Frakes, sixth; Lone Jack, seventh; Black Mountain, eighth; Page and Cumberland, tied for ninth; and Harlan Middle, 11th. Others competing included Cawood, Green Hills and James A. Cawood.
Results include:
Quick Recall: Rosspoint, first; Bell Central, second; Evarts third; and Wallins, fourth.
Future Problem Solving: Wallins and Bell Central, tied for first; Middlesboro, third; Evarts, fourth; James A. Cawood, fifth; and Cumberland, sixth.
Mathematics: Caleb Rose, Rosspoint, first; Shelby Cornett, Bell Central, second; Josh Pinkley, Cumberland, third; Krisha Sajnani, Harlan, fourth; and Caden Miracle, Page, fifth.
Science: Katherine Ball, Evarts, first; Chris Taylor, Rosspoint, second; Landon McCreary, Rosspoint, third; Aiden Carroll, Wallins, and Will Holder and Jj Arno, Bell Central, tied for fourth.
Social Studies: Katherine Ball, Evarts, first; Zarahan Lathan, Lone Jack, second; Madison Jones, Evarts, third; Connor Brock, Evarts, fourth; and Marissa Hatfield, Rosspoint, fifth.
Language Arts: Wiley Jones, Frakes, first; Chloe Shelton, Rosspoint, second; Austin Robbins, Bell Central, third; Jimmy Shepherd, Wallins, fourth; and Caleb Rose, Rosspoint, and Johanan Woodring, Frakes, tied for fifth.
