Ramey, Collett lead coaches all-region teams

J.J. Ramey and Ally Collett, both guards at South Laurel High School, were named the players of the year on the respective 13th Region Coaches Association all-region squads.

North Laurel’s Eddie Mahan was named girls coach of the year after leading the Lady Jaguars to their first 13th Region Tournament title. South Laurel’s Jeff Davis was named the boys coach of the year.

First-team selections from Harlan County on the boys team were Harlan County senior Alex Pace, as well as Harlan senior Kilian Ledford and freshman Jordan Akal.

Harlan County senior K.K. Johnson was the only local first-team selection on the girls team.
